You graphics are falling back to software rendering in OpenGL, which is why your CounterStrike frame rates stink.
Broadwell based chips can be problematic. you could try to update the xserver-xorg-video-intel package to the one in jessie-backports.
You could also try the 64 bit antiX-16 beta 5, which I believe already has the updated driver, and see if it works better for you.

Run the newest kernel you can find also would be another step to take.
For the html5 no sound thing.
I fixed it once editing about:config>media in icewesel. Changed something from false to true or true to false.
But I can't remember exactly what I did. Just giving you and other members a search idea for that .

counter strike fps is 35-40 on antix 15.1
i booted antix 16b5 386, as a frugal install, fps<30
trying to update kernel, bear with me please
apt-cache search linux-image
apt-get install linux-image-4.4.8-antix.2-486-smp linux-headers-4.4.8-antix.2-486-smp
update-grub
when installing stage i get
what are those errors and warnings
edit: now im on 4.4.8 still no change in fps
trying antix16b5 x64, does it matter if i run a frugal install, or should i install normally?
edit:
antix15.1/386/kernel 4.4.8
i cant play cs 1.6 on x64 cause im unable to install 386 libs dependencies, thats another story, never could
but i can tell its working cause when i quickly move the window, its fast, on antix 15 moving windows or scrolling lags
it seems on antix15 i have xorg 2.21
and on antix16 i have xorg 2.99
can i get xorg video intel 2.99 for antix 15?

i installed 2.99 with command, forgot about it
sudo apt-get -t jessie-backports install xserver-xorg-video-intel
now i can enter the game but cs1.6 freezes after bots join
and zandronum (doom2) dosent work in opengl, also freezes
sometimes i can change to another console to kill the process, and once i saw this, dont know what it means
now also freezed on desktop, no game opened, changed console, another error
edit:
i might have solved it
after finding some stuff about sna/uxa rendering on intel gpus (i had sna, changed to uxa)

====================================
default booting was kernel 4.4.8 wich didnt boot, got in x and only showed cursor arrow with black background
then i thought i boot kernel 4.0.5 and it was working, i was finally able to play all my crap
cs1.6 stayed at 100fps, zandronum on opengl 1024x768 60fps, would drop, but most hovered around 40
those 2 errors seem to be intel gpu related
so the solution seem to be kernel 4.0.5 / xorg 2.99 / uxa rendering
will reinstall clean, and report back
radeon driver (leftover cause i didnt reinstall) says i have 1gb VRAM and 1gb VTT memory ready
this leaves me 2.41gb
can this memory be modified from whithin the OS, i dont have any options in bios
now if you can explain what will happen in the future
why doesent 4.4.8 work, would newer kernels work, would antix16 kernel work (4.10 was it)
would 386 still be supported by antix linux
wil antix16 386 , get the 2.99 intel xorg driver?
from your experience
would you keep this laptop broadwell i3-5010u with GPU on die? or should i change it?
will it work easier in the future with linux/antix?
it seems its enough performance for me
iirc intel video driver is open source, and we should probably see improvements
im just thinking about the weirdness of intel gpus
thank you all very very much for your help

i solved the ram problem, only 2.41gb of ram usable by installing pae kernel
is there posibility in the future, for antix 386 to include pae-kernel and xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.99 ?

Maybe this is a silly question, however.....
Why not use the 64 bit version for that laptop ?

I setup up half-life 2 once, and I remember having to manually install some libraries. i'll see if I can find my notes and post back.zpimp wrote:its ripped from steam, just unpack and play
