A relative newbie to Linux ( I delved into it last October with Jaunty), I am impressed with the performance and functionality of antiX. Recently, I tried LXDE distros like lubuntu and pclxde; I'm also familiar with puppy and Slax and SliTaz. They do not compare with my just-completed hard drive install of the M8.5 version of antiX. Excellent distro.

Semi-retired and currently unemployed, I have had time to do a lot of distro exploration and hands-on learning of Linux. I will not go back to M$ Windoze.

I'm promoting Linux in a small way and want to start a non-profit along the lines of Free Geek.

This system of things and the paybacks of working too hard physically for a paycheck have forced me off the road and indoors more than I have ever been, but linux lets me travel where I want and the journey is enjoyable.

Welcome, SaminBare!
I hope to see you around here frequently. We Bears have to stick together.
And please feel free to ask any question that might arise in your experience with antiX. We strongly feel that there are no"stupid questions." The only stupidity that might be involved is the stupidity of struggling alone with something when a friend could help you fix your problem quickly.
And we're all friends here!

(sorry --I use antiX on my laptop, and I don't have my SilverBear logo graphic on this machine to upload for my avatar, so i had to use my real pic. But I use a polar bear on MEPISlovers.org)

As usual. I'm a day late and a dollar short. Howdy and Welcome from another crusty self taught Linux user. Good luck with the promo thing. My small efforts are in the wiki. Happy Trails, Rok
