After a few days with antiX and this forum, I must say that I am very impressed with both. I don't have a clue what I am doing in linux (windows guy, sorry), but with your help I am converting an old laptop to a very useable machine.
It is not finished yet (and I quite like this"game", so I guess it will never really be finished), but it is definitely getting there! Hov much getting there you may ask?
Well, let me put it this way. The laptop is a PIII 733 MHz with 128 MB RAM. My teenage daughter (16 years old) has a dual-core 2 MHz with 2 GB RAM - but she is more on this old laptop than her own.
Of course, that is partly because of the nice programs for drawing I have found for her (she likes Gimp and simply loves Krita). She is used to Gimp from Windows, but this version is better she says (I have installed all sorts of extras from the repositories), but she has never heard about Krita before (usually she uses Artveawer, Netpaint and Gimp in Vista). Still, it is odd to see the old"extra" laptop becoming more popular than her own far more powerfull Vista machine.
By the way, she asks if there are some good vector drawing programs for linux?

Glad you and the daughter are both enjoying antiX.
Once you get used to linux and antiX in particular, it is really easy.
Vector graphics app?=Inkscape is the best.
Have fun with antiX __{{emoticon}}__
