Hello everyone,
I am a real newbie but as i've heard so much about this distro (i downloaded antix-M8-base-iso), i am determined to learn as much about it as possible.
Have only just started using Antix and running as a"Live CD" at the moment before eventually installing it to my hard drive.
I would have liked to see some sort of control panel for ease of navigation and be able to change the default desktop background.

Welcome to antiX.
The version you have is old. The latest version is antiX-M8.2 and antiX-M8.5 will be released in a few days.
The base version does not have a control centre, but the full version does.
Have fun!

Howdy and Welcome Ghoul.
I downloaded the 8.5 RC3 base and installed it to Pendrive (using AntiX2usb in AntiX full Control Center) for my Asus EEE 900 and Acer Aspire One ZG5. Like you I Missed using
so as to use XFCE control Center to use it for changing Wallpapers and such. Did all this mostly for testing but it cruises just great on my Netbooks. I just don't have the heart to wipe it yet.
Base Iso can be fun to learn with. But as Anti said. The full Iso comes with the AntiX Control Center in Fluxbox and Icewm. Have fun with it. Happy Trails, Rok
