I have been reading several articles over the past few years advising the general public that anything they do to protect themselves is now becoming ILLEGAL. In the US as well as the UK, the police are there at the scene only after the fact.

My friends Smith & Wesson and Colt agree. I will protect what is mine.
But in some areas it has gotten to the point where the District Attorneys will not accept Self-Defense as a plea in a Capital Crime.

When my mother in law moved way out in nowhere, the"local" police suggested she should get a shotgun,
as they would not be there in a few hours, if anything happened.
I think this should go under common sense, not some regulations and law stuff.

So, the answer is no, it is not insanity, it is just regular greed?
Oh well, as long as you can make stuff disappear, you should be ok.
