....namely, from Turkey, from Turkish, though I currently reside in Switzerland. Last night I discovered AntiX and immediately downloaded and installed. I am writing these lines through Antix, under Fluxbox environment, and as far as I see, there are only ten or so different keyboard layouts, corresponding to the languages, I guess, in which AntiX is available. Anyway, I would like to see Antix in Turkish as well, hence to translate it into Turkish. Please send me the necessary files with a bit instructions on how to do via e-mail using my profile here. Meanwhile I am planning to translate Antix's (wiki) homepage into Turkish. (I may need help related to technical aspect.)
Hope to be able to help and to get help. Greetings!

Hello and welcome, vizesiz.
Actually your language is waiting for someone to do the translation at

url was:"https://translations.launchpad.net/antixers"
linktext was:"https://translations.launchpad.net/antixers"

You have to register in launchpad then go to the

url was:"https://translations.launchpad.net/antixers/trunk/+lang/tr"

page and start translating. It works like this: you translate one page (you can leave things untranslated for later, if you want) then click 'Save and continue' in the bottom of the page to save the translation.
To translate antiX's homepage you also have to register, but first anticapitalista must create a Turkish page, I think.

A warm welcome to you, Vizesiz from the opposite side of the Aegean.
For translation either use launchpad as suggested (the best option IMO as it keeps all the files in one place) or if you prefer just to edit the files directly, see these threads.
Priority would be for the menus, antiX control centre and then the antiX apps.

Hello secipolla and anticapitalista! I am pleased to be here, thanks.
I had a quick look at launchpad, it seems almost everything are already made easy for translation. I will start with the main (wiki) page first, then continue through launchpad. Thank you again, secipolla, for the links and quick instruction and anticapitalista, for creating promptly the turkish page at wiki.
By for now!
PS: Do you have a quick solution to changing my german keyboard layout to turkish (tr_q or something like this) under Fluxbox? I followed the usual way but somehow I couldn"t see/manage it. I use german locales with turkish Q-(werty) keyboard layout.

This will set the keyboard for the session:
$ setxkbmap tr
For permanent Turkish keyboard (for latest antiX)
In
/etc/default/keyboard (if you have it)
XKBLAYOUT="tr"
or in
/etc/default/console-setup
XKBLAYOUT="tr"
or in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
XKBLAYOUT="tr"

To set the keyboard immediately, type in a terminal as root
To set it definitely you must edit either /etc/default/console-setup or /etc/default/keyboard. It depends on how up-to-date your system is, so if you want you may post here the contents of those two files for us to see what to edit (basically you'll have to change the layout from"de" to"tr").
Code: Select all
setxkbmap tr
