Hey, I just installed antiX a few dats ago. I am thrilled. I am totally a newbie to Linux, but all seems to be going pretty well, and I am learning a lot. The antiX community seems to be pretty rad. I hope to get to know some of you, and I very much hope that I can share some help with you all.

Peace,

Glad to see you, envytea. Well, not"see" you, more like hear from you. No, that's not it either, I can't actually *hear* anything...(Hank Kimball moment here).

Anyway, you'll find a range of friendly users here, from the ultra-competent to the dangerously fresh and innocent.

It would be good to let us know what kind of system you're running antiX on and how you got into the loop in the first place.

Thank you for the kind welcome! This seems like a great place to be.

So, I've got an old Dell Laditude (466 it hurts, 128 chuncks of ram) that I rescued from the dumpster a few years ago. I have XP for too long, and I recently decided to become a computer user of the people. So, I was looking for a linux distro that was simple, and not windowy. I saw an author named"anticapitalista" and I knew I was in the right place. So, here I am, not having seen a command prompt since fifth grade. Amazing!

antiX is awesome.

envytea, welcome to the mad and sane world of antiX.

antiX is new and this community is new too, but it is growing and we hope to 'kick ass' as you say over your side of the pond.

I'm not sure everyone here is 'rad', but as you have guessed from my nickname, I am more rad than rad! (Did you see my 'message' in the documents folder?)

Feel free to post in the Kafeneio section any non-linux stuff, including politics if you want.

Enjoy yourself here and enjoy antiX.

Welcome envytea!

I, like most people, took several years to migrate to linux. My first successful install (after almosts with Ubuntu) was Mepis 6.5. I was there for a week or so before going to AntiX and here I have remained.

I've found AntiX to be very easy to understand and a great gateway to Linux. The forums are friendly and immensely helpful and responsive. I've installed different varieties of AntiX on three different computers...playing, learning, and using.

Have fun!
