Google Chrome 32 bit is no longer supported by google. they even went so far as to remove it from their servers. So if you have a 32 bit system with chrome installed, be aware there are no updates.

removing / etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-chrome.list will prevent some weird error messages from popping up.

if you are a 64 bit user. your google-chrome.list file needs a slight change.

add [arch=amd64] to the deb entry like this.

update your sources and all should be well.

Thanks Dolphin , it works OK now , I did have that problem.
I do have a new problem , I don't think I goofed it up , bur here's what I have gotten lately.
Upon running apt-get update , this is what I get at the end.

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I don't remember changing anything , but the last week I have seen these errors.

you've got a different problem. post your inxi -r in a seperate thread and we will take a look at your sources.

Just an"add-on" note to this conversation: it's the 32-bit support for Linux-based platforms that has been removed. I notice that"For Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP 32-bit", the option is there. I confirmed that neither the Mac nor the Linux platforms support any 32-bit options any longer.
