I've always been curious about the gnome desktop, but could never try it because I'm using a very old 32 bit P4. How easy/practical is it on Antix 16.2 Jessie? Is there anything special that I need to do, install, or look out for?

Forget it on antiX since gnome needs systemd and antiX is proudly systemd-free.
