from"NVIDIA X SERVER SETTINGS" in"opengl" tab it shows this message:
"GLX not available: either the GLX extension is not
available on this X server, or there was a problem
retrieving GLX information from the X server."

does this mean that"opengl" is not working?
how can i fix this?

Might try using
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========

linktext was:"http://code.google.com/p/sgfxi/"
====================================
which is included in antix.
5. Use sgfxi (or smxi) to install nvidia/ATI drivers.
Though with your specs. I expect video streaming from browser to work like a crippled dog. To get around a low spec issue like this.
I download videos via plugin in Iceape

save the video and open it in gxine or gnome-mplayer on my low spec IBM A22m that has 512MB of ram on a Pentium 1000hz processor with correct video driver and glx working in it.. It should how ever play OK in gxine or gnome-mplayer without glx working either this way with the generic vesa driver also.

my iceape version (I just did a apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade today)

Code: Select all

~$ apt-cache policy iceape

This is a older install of AntiX that I just keep current by dist-upgrade and newer kernels. You will notice in my inxi -F readout that glx is installed.

For/@ dark-D. I am hooked up to my other new 21.5" Widescreen HP LCD on this little tinnee weenie Asus 701SD and Hulu Desktop plays Lexx on this little bad unit OK via wireless. I bought this screen while my wife was in Mississippi.
