I use the below zip I uploaded for getting info when I need to troubleshoot wireless in AntiX. The zip is a executable script file that gives a lot of different info on your network cards and what is loaded and what they are doing. I borrowed this script from waterhead.

A Linux Wireless Guru in Linux Forums. It creates a readable text file in /home that you can read in leafpad or geany. I thought I would post this as we get quite a few questions about Wireless in AntiX from new Members. It is a good tool to use like any wrench in a tool box.

To show what it prints out. Here is my generated text file for my IBM T23 Latop running AntiX 8.5 full.

I figure ifconfig and iwconfig shows nothing because you need to be root user to pick up those commands in AntiX.
Maybe you guys like Secipolla or anyone else good with scripting could improve this below uploaded script to include inxi -F in the script. Just a thought is all.

Hi roky, I don't know anything about programming but we can easily guess how to do it from these simple scripts. In this case, to add inxi info just put at the end of the script the following:
if you want just network info,

Code: Select all

echo ` ` >> ~/wireless_setup.txt
echo ============ inxi ============ >> ~/wireless_setup.txt
inxi -Nx >> ~/wireless_setup.txt
and if you want full info,

Code: Select all

echo ` ` >> ~/wireless_setup.txt
echo ============ inxi ============ >> ~/wireless_setup.txt
inxi -F >> ~/wireless_setup.txt

Thanks Secipolla. Uploaded WirelessTools with inxi included below for anyone wanting to use this

One is with inxi -F

the other with just inxi -Nx
