I have installed M7.01, but now I have a few questions. __{{emoticon}}__

1. I installed, but saved home. Which file has the updated fluxbox styles with the rounded corners? If I create a new user will it get the updates?

2. I have a user from one of the beta installs that I have tried unsuccessfully to delete. In the Mepis User Assistant, the user doesn't show up, but if I try to create a new user with that name, it tells me it already exists. When I look at the home folder, I can see the user, but my permissions are wrong to delete it. Is there a command line that I can use to delete the user?

Thanks!

Hello.

1. This may or may not help. I installed 7.0 and none of my styles had rounded corners. Since then I have been doing regular updates. About a week ago some of the styles started having rounded corners. I'm guessing that anti enabled this feature, perhaps with an update update of fluxbox or some script. So the rounded corners are part of the style and some feature of fluxbox turns them on or off. I tried to find some file to edit to turn the rounding effect on or off, but could not. I think there is a post in the tips and tricks section that may help.

Hello mariel77

1. For fluxbox files, you could copy these ones in /etc/skel (hidden) to your /.fluxbox folder.

menu, keys

Check that this line in your .fluxbox init file (the one you kept) points to the hidden styles folder, not the one in /esr/share/fluxbox/styles

session.styleFile: /home/mariel77/.fluxbox/styles/arch

You may wish to copy over the (some) styles to the same folder from /usr/share/fluxbox/styles.

The antiX and arch styles have rounded corners.

2. Can you simply delete that uses folder through rox-filer as root?

As Anti said some styles use rounded corners...some do not. If you would like to enable or disable this feature for a particular style...open the directory for the specific style you want to alter.

Open theme.cfg or the main style sheet. Most styles have a logical flow with different sections grouped together. Look for the entries dealing with the menu...usually towards the top.

Look for this particular line or something close:
menu.roundCorners: TopLeft TopRight BottomLeft BottomRight
If you want to disable the rounded corners feature place a ! or # before the line. Save and exit.

If you want to add rounded menu corners to that particular style, add the above line. Look at the anti style for reference.

covers this topic a little bit as well. I was unable to use rounded corners initially under Lysistrata but after moving to sid everything was fine. Not sure if the other repos have caught up yet or not.

Wow! Thanks for all the fluxbox config info! It's great!

@impuwat: That was the post I couldn't find; Steve wrote the how-to; I thought it was anti. __{{emoticon}}__

@anti: Rox as root worked! I had tried using Mepis user tool and also when I was using the live cd. I forgot all about running Rox as root. I have to make a"Rox as root" item for my fluxbox menu.

Thanks again!
