topic title: Error when updating package list in synaptic

When I update the package list in synaptic I'm getting this error Im using 16 stable.

I think this is due to debian update. Can someone please tell me in VERY SIMPLE TERMS how I resolve this please.

Thanks for the link. I followed every solution but still get this when I update synaptic
