antiX-15-V_386-core-libre.iso was applied to install to a CF card. A Tatung TWN-5213 CU tablet was then booted from the card and came to the screen visible at

.
For reference,
FATAL: Error inserting fan (/lib/...
FATAL: Error inserting thermal (/lib/...
hda: dma timeout error: ...
hda: possibly failed opcode: 0xcB
Software to control a fan certainly won't be successful in this machine; there is no fan. What remedy is advisable for this?
The hda complaints suggest a faulty CF card? Something else?
Thanks, ... Peter E.

Thanks. According to

,"acpi=off" in /boot/grub/menu.lst solved the fan and thermal failures.
The"hda: dma timeout error" persists, in spite of boot option"ide=nodma". This option is ineffective? Has anyone else tried"ide=nodma"?
Thanks, ... Peter E.

Sorry to say, it comes to the same result.
hda: dma timeout error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }
hda: possibly failed opcode: 0xc8
In the original report, the opcode I typed was incorrect.
"0xcB" should have been"0xc8".
DMA isn't shut off? The BIOS is interefering? Other ideas?
Thanks, ... Peter E.

Fan, thermal and dma problems, solved. Thanks for the replies.
A subsequent problem is in the later topic,"ALERT! /dev/hda1 does not exist".
