Hi I am new to Debian and Mx14
Just installed mx14 i686 to my old asustek computer
The live cd works fine but installed I have a display problem
The resolution is not right
The live cd diplay only works if I add vga=773 to the boot line
But when installed the screen looks like a mess as if the res I specified on the live cd wasn't applied to the installation
I can go to the command line by ctrl-alt-f1 because I cant see well enough to go to terminal
Anyone help with how to proceed from here?

Throw us a
readout so we can see a few things 1st. You can use the live cd to do this.
Code: Select all

on the boot menu, you should be able to add the vga=773 parameter to the boot line. I believe you hit 'e' to edit an entry. Look for the word"quiet" and put your vga boot code there. he screen should tell you which key to hit to boot. Once you get a working resolution, you can use grub-customizer, (already included in MX) to permanently add the vga code.
fyi - the issue of boot codes not carrying over from livecd to installed system is one of the bugs being worked on for the next MX bugfix release, 14.3.
