Have I left AntiX? I can't tell if I have a MEPIS gnome/Debian Testing install or what __{{emoticon}}__ Am I in the right forum? __{{emoticon}}__
On my hardware in sig, it runs faster this way and I wanted the power management. thanks

I think you might be one of those rare antiX plus gnome users. What you have is basically Debian gnome that has been tweaked by antiX (and yourself) for a maximised lean and mean desktop.

Thanks for the reply Anti....it's one of the fastest gnome desktops I've used....although I'm mainly an Xfce and KDE fancier, this one is pretty nice and very functional. Is there a guide anywhere to recompile the kernel to use additional ram? ( i.e. PAE for up to 64gb of ram)

You could install a pae kernel. I think MEPIS has one.
