While at work today, one of my customers was tossing out and old PC. Its a Compaq (model unknown) PIII 800mhz. It has 256m ram and an Nvidia Riva card. It had Windows ME on it (yuk man yuk), which I quickly wiped clean and put on antiX base. Added kdebase, swiftweasel and a few other apps. It really runs great, better then I expected.
A couple things:
1) When booting up, it says
..Bios needs updating or force_addr=xaddr (any real problem?)
If I find a bios update, how will it work in Linux? (I assume it will be a floppy file in .exe form)
2) Also, when I installed today, it set up two partitions, one root 10g and a home 8.5g. Can I merge these two together now to take advantage of the limited 18.5g space without reformatting as I have it all tweaked out already?
TIA

Thanks Acid, but I re-did it. It was a shame too, it ran so well.
