Replacement for umtsmon?

this is supposed to handle most setups automatically.

hmm, ok. I put the question because my mileage varies a lot using umtsmon.

note that full version must be used to get embedded modeswitch. most modems require this now i guess.

I have only tried this on Debian lenny, which does not have a GUI 3g tool. Worked flawlessly after I entered operator details (my isp was not listed).
should work on this simple setup of course, a huawei e 220 modem

Latest antiX uses umts-panel2 from aptosid.

Makes sense as deps for this is in Squeeze --now I don't use squeeze/sid as I use repositories from DVD
because I have no fast internet now.
Umts-panel2 does not work in Debian Lenny on my desktop/laptop (antix 8).
Seems it wants usb_modeswitch (compiling this fails).
Wvdial works fine, umtsmon mostly.

sakis is good for really old distros I guess.
