I have been using anti-X on my ancient laptop for a couple years now.
I am not so familiar with Fluxbox but I muddled through it.
With the new anti-X M11 ... I like that it defaults to IceWM.
I am basically, an Xfce DE fanatic ... I have used Xfce almost since Day One, in my Linux experience.
Well, with my anti-X M11 I ... I installed Xfce-Lite from the Package Manager.
Xfce works great with anti-X and the Debian repros.
What I have not figured out is:
How do I make anti-X default to using Xfce when first booting up?
I have tried adding Xfce to the anti-X Start-Up Application ... and looked in the boot/grub config files.
I know that I can select to which DE or WM I want to boot into at the Splash Screen Log-in page ... but, a default directly to Xfce is possible ... I just don't know how?

Just change Default= (startxfce4 goes here) in ~/.xinitrc text file to startxfce4
.xinitrc sits as a hidden text file in /home. Always make a backup (I make a folder in /home named backups and copy and paste original text files before I edit them).

Code: Select all
# The following line gets changed by antiX-init.sh with the desktop= cheatcode
XINITRC_DEFAULT="startxfce4"

EDIT:just steps now
menu --> run
type:" thunar" and press ok
view --> show hidden files
find the file" .xinitrc" and open it with a text editor
find the line" XINITRC_DEFAULT="icewm-session""
change the"icewm-session" part to"startxfce4"
save, close, logout and login. Xfce4 should now be default

Thanks guys.
This worked like a charm.
Instructions we're very simple and accurate.
Xfce-4.8 (Lite) is now default in my anti-X
