I installed antiX on an old laptop- Dell Inspiron 7000. It's really nice, however, I just realized my cd-rom and floppy don't work. When I click on floppy in pcmanfm, I get error"unable to mount device". Any help would be appreciated. Could I be missing drivers?

Open a terminal and type
and paste the output into a reply. We should be able to see what is wrong.
Code: Select all

url was:"antix.freeforu ms.org/policykit-usb-drive-software-suspend-t1687.html"
linktext was:"antix.freeforu ms.org/policykit-u ... t1687.html"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

for music cd, don't mount it from a file manager, simply open it from xmms

No luck with that, either. Any kind of cd that I put in the drive, it makes a whirring noise for about 15 seconds. Then the machine locks up. I have to power down to remove the cd.
