I use a notebook with no internal cd and i have to boot from external firewire cd-rom.
Grub loads, but after selecting any of boot options and a little loading it says"cannot find Mepis Filesystem". And drops to a"very limited shell". It's not a problem with cd-rom, as Linux Mint Fluxbox, for example, loads. But it cannot compete with AntiX in speed. I also spotted"pata_acpi .... no available native port" message before. It seems that antix livecd kernel cannot load a module for my cd-rom. But after the installation (I installed antix on the other computer and switched hdd) it finds my cd-rom! And some time ago I was able to boot from antiX m7.5 (but now I also cannot with exactly the same issue!). It seems that it something times out loading modules for my cd-rom... Or maybe I amn't right? What must I do?
