Me again. Thanks so much for everybody's help- I really love this distro. It's fast, beautiful, and I really want to start digging in and optimizing it, but here's the thing- I can't suspend/sleep. I have the option, but when I do, the computer shuts down. When I press my power button, it restarts but I only get a black screen. Then I have to restart completely.
I'm running this on a Sony Vaio 2.7 GHz CPU with 1.75 RAM.
I read on a MEPIS forum to edit my menu.lst file to add to the end of my"kernal" line-"resume=/dev/hda7" Tried it, nothing happened.
hda7 is my swap partition, hda6 is my root. Nothing I've done seems to work. On pulling it up after restarting, my readout says it couldn't find the image. I typed"suspend=/dev/hda7" followed by the"resume" thinking that might work, but it didn't.
Any thoughts? I'm really enjoying the struggle, though! (It's intellectually satisfying)
