I just can't seem to get the time on my toolbar applet to display the correct EST time. It is always 4 hours behind.
Time displays correctly in the bios and in both Mepis 8 and 8.5
Is there a confiugration file I can edit manually to fix this?
Thanks for your help.

To configure the time zone:
dpkg-reconfigure tzdata
Also, give it a little time to synchronize the time with some web server, if you boot off-line then it assumes the BIOS time is GMT.

Tried this to no avail.
Finally I installed ntp and the display instantly changed to the correct time and timezone.
Something must have been deleted when I had to force some older library files to make Audacity work correctly.
