Hello there from a new Antix user from India!

I am eager to get Antix working on an old machine that I got from an office sale. Installed it and it boots up nice and fast. The only issue as far as I can see is that the ethernet device (which was working in Windows) is not being detected.

The device is a Broadcom BCM4401 100 Base-T. I went into Control Center->Configure DSL and tried loading modconf and the appropriate network card drivers. But even though I select the BCM440x driver there and the installation seems to take place successfully, the card is not being detected.

In fact even in the modconf interface, there does not appear a '+' sign next to this driver even though I select and successfully install it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that was the first relevant search result. And i did go through that. But that seems to be specific for MEPIS. And I found no way of following those same instructions in Antix.

I am sure I am not understanding the crux of it because I am not an advanced user. Any help would be appreciated.

Oops - I saw a different thread in the mepislovers forum. Let me try the instructions in the thread you pointed out. I will get back on this asap.
