hello anticapitalista and EveryOne
A Vista machine left by the wayside [lacking bios support for its future] last month was Primary machine here. End of those days of networking the hp-dv6. full- antix17-keerfa -alpha3 32bit
live for now on the DataTravellerSE9/8Gb usb. boot + space-fluxbox + bootchart. spacefm adds time but needs desktop refresh to appear. long waiting for network interface. It works!

usb live kingston data traveler8G antix17alpha3 .boot + bootchart + space-fluxbox + vga-second display + wireless keyboard with touchpad combo unit = hp8440p
did four bios upgrades with windows then removed hdd. 8440p broken display and broken keyboard. startup antix needed to find display settings for the first time and learn about ScreenLayoutEditor. It began with presenting the vga as some part right-of-center of a two monitor set-up. worked it out vga as active 1920x1080 / inbuilt inactive. looks of nice desktop now. sending up from live session.

hi Shay
Is seen that the last two similar. first generation compared to Your third generation i5. Those third generation are fast. Seen where E6430 rox, icewm is quicker than the fluxbox, spacefm 8440P.
What happened to iwconfig? 8440P has no udev that E6430 shows. I was curious about adding the 2G of ram going from 2 to 4. now at the third boot no save. ran bootchart with the fourG; it was six seconds longer on same 8440P.
adding: did a third bootchart with the 4G ram. now it shows that it stored wicd. wicd is on startup live because it was used once live. it is not on the cheat. This time the time is 28 seconds. four seconds quicker than the last time. i think that long one is because of the hardware change; first start after adding the ram stik.

Hardware changes can and will effect the first boot up. No matter what OS is being used.

Is there an echo over here? sounds like room with no furniture.
not trying to conserve space here, eh. space available.
antix17 full -x64 has been sitting live for three days. got interrupted that first night before installing, so the wait is worth reporting as running well since that first start that produced this bootchart live usb on Lexar byMicron 16G with hp 8440p bootchart + space-fluxbox. no wicd ing it this first start.
