Hi to all out there,
I recently installed Antix 15 on my Eee PC 1005 HA and registerd an enormous use of battery. Before, I had XP installed and the battery would last up to 5 hours with WLan on, working on docs and streaming or listening to music. Brightness was turned low, though. Any idea to mod the system so it won't use as much power?
Secondly, I couldn't get my FN-Keys to work. The ones for display brightness work but that's about it. I'm greatful for your support!
Do you need more info on my system?

Post a screen shot of Htop and also a terminal readout of inxi -Fxz.
Example
I sold my eeepcs and use these netbooks now instead since they have a touchscreen and are toughbooks. So I might not be of much help on this. There are other eeepc members here who
may assist you better than I.

try installing eeepc-acpi-scripts from synaptic (they are in the default repos). This was installed by default in antiX 13 but not in 15.51mon wrote:Hi to all out there,

You are running less memory and cpu than I on my netbook.
My netbook battery is good for some hours. But I bought it used.
I see nothing unusual in your screen shots or readouts.

Hey there,
I followed your advice (thanx to you both). I had to enable the FN-use for the volume in the mixer (checkboxes). Now it works. I can even toggle the wireless button.
I installed the following scripts additionally:
frkill
urfkill
liburfkill-blib0
liburfkill-blib0-dbg
I can't tell which one does the job, but who cares as long as it is working and the dependencies are fine.
Two more things:
-Is the fan controlled by the BIOS only (latest is installed), or does some other program/script intervene? Feel like the CPU gets quite warm (up to 60°C)
-The sleep button doesn't work properly yet (FN+F1). If I hit it, the computer locks the screen. After entering my pswrd the computer enters standby. I couldn't find a solution yet.
Again thanx for your time and support.

I think I would perhaps try an older kernel. Not ancient, but not 4 series.

Yeah, like the one in my inxi readout. I had the 4 kernel and downgraded because my netbook likes the older one better.rust collector wrote:I think I would perhaps try an older kernel. Not ancient, but not 4 series.

That is just because we don't have real lives. We just sit in our parents basements, playing games all day...........and night. __{{emoticon}}__
