Hi everyone,
(and welcome back anticapitalista!)

When I did the usual update this morning I got this error:

Code: Select all

Reading package lists... Error!
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/www.daveserver.info_antiX_debs_dists_testing_main_i18n_Translation-en
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
Any help appreciated!

brian

If your dave repo link matches male. Daves server sometimes goes down due
to bad spots in the Universe sometimes so you might try it again later.

Hi guys,
it looks like maybe there's just a"bad spot" going on at the moment. I'll wait a while longer and see if things change.

I just did a wheezy update && dist-upgrade on my netbook this morning here. I ran into

Code: Select all

Ign http://www.daveserver.info testing/main Translation-en_US
Ign http://www.daveserver.info testing/main Translation-en
Ign http://mozilla.debian.net wheezy-backports/iceweasel-beta Translation-en_US
Ign http://mozilla.debian.net wheezy-backports/iceweasel-beta Translation-en
Fetched 1 B in 5s (0 B/s)
W: Failed to fetch copy:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/www.daveserver.info_antiX_debs_dists_testing_main_binary-i386_Packages Hash Sum mismatch

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
So now This bad spot in the Universe gas changed (different error than yours) for me . I am gonna wait to see what Dave says is happening here.

We are working on enabling a new repository setup to better work with the debs / antix versions and be more compliant with how debian is servicing its users through their repository. I was hoping we could easilly migrate by redirecting the old url for the old testing repository to the new testing repository. Eventually the current testing repos will migrate down to a stable repo. We are hoping to easy the transition by not needing to make people play with their sources.list. I have changed the redirect to point back to the old repo for now so that the errors here should not be experienced.

Thanks anticapitalista! I was away for about 10 days from this pc, but I checked the link you provided (linuxquestions.org) and the last post gave what I needed. (I just needed to do a"sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* --force" and then update the packages.)

Thanks!
