After following the above instructions, I now have a new menu - it has a total of three entries - Logout, Settings - {Focus, Themes}, and Run. Now that I've trashed my whole system, I guess I am forced to start over with a new install ..... fortunately, I haven't been using this version of antiX long enough to worry about backing anything up. I will see if the install disk has a restore function ..... if not, I will probably use another distro until anti comes out with a newer version.Thanks bunches!

You haven't thrashed your system. It's just the icewm menu which is a very superficial thing. You can restore the old menu by renaming ~/.icewm/menu.old to ~/.icewm/menu
Maybe anti will release a new beta before the new year.
