This is really weird. This morning I used Synaptic to update/upgrade and had about 34 updates.Afterwards, I shut down my laptop to move it elsewhere (no battery). After rebooting, I seemed to have"lost" the Applications Menu completely. __{{emoticon}}__ All I get is a thin BLUE LINE.

It doesn't matter if I Right-click on the desktop or use the launcher on the lower left of the screen. Both will not open the Applications Menu. __{{emoticon}}__

How do I get them back?

That looks like it is not combining the (Debian?) menu that gets called to be included.
I think you need to look at your WM's menu file to figure out what has gone wrong.

I would try running"Update Menu" to see if it gets rebuilt.

The applications menu is a separate file that is called by the main menu file.

Already tried that at first. No dice. I've been trying to find which file I need to associate itself with the Applications Menu.

look in your home folder/.icewm/ folder and the file you want is menu-applications. You can also check your menu file and see if the applications file is still referenced.

C'est la vie! Applications file has ZERO bytes. Time to restart.

I've been experimenting with this headache and I think I solved it -- sort of. For some reason the kernel update I did completely erases the application file from .icewm in my home folder. The only way I could get it to work was to copy the application file elsewhere BEFORE the update and copy it back afterwards.

1- Installed antiX 13.2 full on separate partition. Used Synaptic to update files.

2- Reboot. Ran Synaptic again to update files.

3- Added the repository hhtp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ in Synaptic.

4- Reloaded. Searched for"linux-". From results, selected as follows:
a- linux-image-3.14-2-amd64
b- linux-headers-3.14-2-amd64
c- PLUS all dependencies as required

5- Clicked on"APPLY" and let her rip.

6- After Synaptic was finished, I rebooted.

7- I went into /boot/grub and adjusted the menu.lst to make the"linux-image-3.14-2-amd64 as my kernel.

8- Reboot. Although conky does show that linux 3.14.2-amd64 as my kernel, the application file has no bytes, and no links to the files.

It was just a little while ago when i realized a few things. With the daverserver down, I wasn't loading the correct kernel. I think I have solved this one. __{{emoticon}}__

Any idea of how the situation with the daveserver is going? __{{emoticon}}__

Seems that is has come down to being a little more stable again... for how long I am not sure. Hopefully this will stay stable for a longer amount of time again as it has in the past before all the isp buyouts...

By the way if there are persons who would be interested in hosting a mirror please feel free to pm me (again).
That way if I get hit with a random change again then at least there will be more sources to be able to carry on with. __{{emoticon}}__

If it still seems down to you perhaps your sources are wrong?
They Should be:
#stable
deb

url was:"http://antix.daveserver.info/stable"
linktext was:"http://antix.daveserver.info/stable"

The sources appears to be correct. I've checked the Repository in Synaptic, and at / etc/apt. But I am getting a strange message when I reload Synaptic.
