I've been playing around with awesome wm in both my desktop and my main box (my laptop). I had tried awesome a while back and gave it up in favor of dwm. I decided to try it again and I have been very impressed with it. It offers more choices than dwm and it's very comparable in the key bindings, so that I didnt have to relearn much (I used dwm almost exclusively). I do like the ability to reconfigure the wm and restart on the fly, which is more difficult in dwm.
I'm also very impressed with ranger file manager. It worked for most of my file associations out of the box. It's very fast and very clean.
So, here's a picture of antix 8.2 runing awesome wm, mutt, vim and ranger fm. This is in my desktop (which has a nice large screen). I'll try ranger in my laptop next.
I think this is as close to perfection as humanly possible __{{emoticon}}__
