My pc is a Vesa mini itx with 256MB ram and 40Gig hdd
I have sucessfully installed Debian Etch, and lenny to this machine and they boot fine. I did try and install Jessie, which did go in but would not boot hdd. Now understand that AntiX is a cut down jessie so i wonder if this is my problem. Have placed grub in both mbr and root, no difference still no boot. Boots off cd after a fashion, as sometimes I dont get the menu options ie Live safe etc.
Any ideas folks. I would just like to get a system working before I go back to lenny __{{emoticon}}__

Did you get the popup saying"grub installed successfully to mbr of /dev/sda" during the install process.

Sounds like something on your machine needs more time than is at present allowed for it to register itself.
Check your dmesg for clues.

The cli-installer in my antiX-15-V_386-core-libre is also screwed in cli-installer: on lines 328,329 there is code grub=hd$gdrv1 which will never render into needed /dev/sda (in my case) . Yes this is also visible in announcement"grub installed on (hd0)" (instead of expected"on (/dev/sda)" ) which can be easily oversighted. Replacing this code with grub="/dev/sda" is rough, but quick working solution (beside manually installing grub after installation by using live CD)
