Some other stuff I am looking foward to running testing on here since this netbook has not been fired up in a while.
So upgrading from a 13 install is not for the faint hearted. Good luck with it.
Time to pull the dist-upgrade trigger on this and see if it reboots.
Base AntiX has less than Full AntiX to pull in and stable has less than testing to pull in also.
Notice also my kernel sits in between AntiX 13 stock version and AntiX 15 stock version.
Older Debian probably played nicer on your gear because of older kernel and older version of xorg.
after you install 13.2 . I bet if you check. Your version is older.

Try AntiX 13.2 Full, and make sure to install grub to MBR. That should solve all the problems.

I saw that about systemd. Reinstalled antiX 15 base and again downgraded kernel. Now, I'm still trying to open antixcc.sh. How can I see which line is 561, there are no numbers to go by when I scroll down (having opened antixcc.sh in leafpad). Still looking.fatmac wrote:Warning!

but you can just refer to the copy of antixcc.sh available at github:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"https://github.com/antiX-Linux/antix-cc-base/blob/master/antixcc.sh"
linktext was:"https://github.com/antiX-Linux/antix-cc ... antixcc.sh"

As you can see, line561 is entirely UNenlightening. The error message already showed you the content of the problematic line.

If that's the case, any of the other antix tools employing gtkdialog would similarly fail when you attempt to launch them.
/usr/local/bin/antixscreenshot.sh
sudo /usr/local/bin/group-management
sudo /usr/local/bin/user-management
^--- if these also fail to launch, downgrade gtkdialog and retry???
Trying to use a left-handed mosquito to hammer a round peg into a blue hole...
If antix15-base includes geany, using that instead of leafpad would display line numbersleenie wrote: I'm still trying to open antixcc.sh

Illegal Instruction errors occur when you try to run a program that was compiled with some processor-specific optimizations, and is then running on a processor that fails to meet those requirements.
Sounds like your processor is choking on gtkdialog.leenie wrote:Here is what I get when running antixcc.sh:

Since my last post. I pulled the 13.2 ssd out of the netbook posted above. Inserted it in my touchscreen netbook which had a platter hard drive at 4200 rpm.
Big improvement in speed on the touchscreen. Backed up all personal stuff to external drive. In case 13.2 tanks out later on. Wifi identifier after swapping drives was definitely not wlan0, wlan1, eth1,ra0, ra01. It was long string that I had to copy and paste from ifconfig into wicd-gtk wireless preferences before I could get the touchscreen unit to connect to my wifi router with the 13.2 SSD drive swap out. Think md5sum numbers long.
The netbook I pulled the ssd out of. I put the platter drive in there. Wiped it and made it ext3. Going to run Linux off of sd card later on and use the internal 30 gig platter drive as a symlink to /home on the card to keep drive space on the sd card under control. I should make a /swap partition on the 30 gig platter drive and borrow it for the sd card install.
Thinking a class 10 16 gig sd card with a full iso install (not live or frugal with persistence) will be the ticket punched on that netbook.
Should be a interesting experiment switching distros out by switching sd cards.
Already have Puppy XFCE Tahr Beta 3.1 on a 4 gig class 4 sd card I did last night.
