I am trying to put together a theme for antix as is impwat. So far I have a wall I like (from xfce-look), a style (from the blackbox themes at freshmeat), and a gtk2 theme (mist - from the repos). The problem is this: I love the wall, but it sports a zenwalk logo (I think this wall was modified from a qnx theme I saw at freshmeat). So I am hoping that impuwat or sakasa can"replace" the zenwalk logo with an antix logo. I would be very grateful. The link to the wall and the screenshot are found below.

That's a nice wallpaper John. Give me a few days and I will see if I can come up with something.

Thanks! (I have only spent about 10 mins in mtpaint and gimp combined, so to say my skills are limited is an overstatement.) Have fun with it.

Well here is one attempt John. Not sure exactly what you were looking for, but the antix logo is a blue globe so I thought I would play off of that.

I took a NASA night photo of the earth, made the oceans mostly transparent, mapped it to a globe, and turned the globe so Greece (Anticapitalista) was centralized. Then placed a little star over Anti's home and added the text. I cloned out the previous logo and added the globe.

I could add a little highlighting because the globe doesn't reflect the fact light is shining on it. I thought I would see what you thought of it before I did much more. I'm playing with a real color globe at the moment and will probably post that later.

You should make sure this will not violate any copyright laws with the existing wallpaper before you publish it. I cloned out the previous author's name in the corner. Under magnification it looked like this had been hacked from something before but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Edit: Forgot to mention I went this way first because the style you had in the screenshot looked dark blue. Not sure if this is real close or not.

Looks very good! I love the concept of the globe and the antix logo with the star above. I think the highlighting would add a very nice touch. I will post the original wall later today and maybe contact the developer by the end of the weekend. As far as colors go, it doesn't matter too much because I can easily modify the style to match.

Is your globe what I had in mind? Well, I was thinking that the replacement image could look like a wax seal, but wasn't sure if that could be pulled off. But if you want to continue with your work, I was thinking that I would like to see the image"softened" up a bit - something along the lines of the original screen. I guess I want the image to look like some sort of seal, but I think it should look"organic" to match the paper effect of the background. Thanks for your hard work. I like it so far!

I like the concept of the blue globe but it has some shortcomings. One is too much detail. The city lights of Europe confuse the eye a little. The continents dark blue and oceans mostly transparent also fool the eye. It's almost a reverse of normal. You have to look at it for a few seconds to catch on. I like the idea....and the little star highlighting Thessaloniki (the center of the antiX world __{{emoticon}}__ ) but it needs simplified a little. I also need to rotate the globe a little more so the star is a little higher allowing the"antiX" text to be more centered.

I'm going to set the blue globe aside for the moment and see what...if anything...I can do regarding a wax seal. That's a good idea and makes sense with the paper/parchment background. I'm a little slow sometimes, but I'm catching on.

Here's a link to a seal that might be useful as a reference:

I think I would prefer a dark blue as opposed to the red.

Here is a screenshot using the included style, wall, and gtk2 theme:

Now that I look at it again, I like it better than my theme (but I have another wall in mind for my theme). I tried to contact the developer using the provided link, but I don't know how to use mail programs. Can someone assist me? Thanks.

Actually John I just read your post that you preferred blue as opposed to red after I completed a red one. __{{emoticon}}__ I just logged on to post it.

Anyway, here is my version of a wax seal...complete with close to the proper highlighting. I will try a blue one later. It is quite a process but I think I have it mastered so it will be quicker next time.

ok John, I'm starting a blue seal.

I used a color picker to choose the blue you like in that theme...so it should match. I'll post when I'm done.

Here is the blue seal John. Actually the hardest part is freehanding the irregular wax around the outside. A little tough with a mouse but that is all I have right now. It would be much smoother with a pen and tablet.

Anyway....let me know what you think. If you like it I will upload it somewhere you can download it.

Impressive! Thank you! I like both versions. Could you maybe upload both of them? If you're willing, I wonder if the community would like other colors, maybe you could make a pack of colors? If not, I would definitely appreciate having both versions. Thanks again.
