I have an old Panasonic cf-28 toughbook. I am experimenting with lightweight distros so turned to antix. The hardware is 256mb ram 800 Mhz Pentiun 3 cpu. The grapics uses an Intel corp 82830M/MG chipset.
Antix M11 loads and runs perfectly. The latest does not. It only displays the deskto over about a third of the screen and is 'torn' at the bottom. I have very little skill to troubleshoot this. Is there any reason not to use M11 ie can I update it or is it obsolete.
Thanks

I'll wait for Anti and others to comment on using vesa for graphics on that old kit of yours. 256MB of ram I left long ago with my IBM 390 E when running AntiX 7. M11 I am not too hip on either. On whether you can update it or not without breakage after a initial install.
How about you post in your next post
So we can see details on your install and make appropriate responses to your questions.

Whilst I'm an ardent fan of AntiX, you may be better served with something running from memory on hardware that low in specs.
(Try something like Tiny Core or SliTaz.)
