The linked method describes how to compare the burned CD disk with its source ISO. It is independent of the burning software.Retrocomputing wrote:Do you mean the verify of the masteizing software ? (I use Imgburn)
Summary
Currently antiX provides an ISO with a corresponding md5sum value. Comparing them enables the user to know the downloaded ISO is OK before moving on to burning it to a CD disk. The linked method offers a way of comparing the ISO to the CD disk after burning. Used together, the before and after comparisons form a chain of tests to establish the burned CD disk is OK.
The above is only an idea, potentially for a future antiX. At the present time it is not ready for everyone to use in a simple way. Anyone who wants to try it must do it for themself using the information available on the net and the man pages of the programs. The short version; currently it is up to each user to understand, conduct, and interpret the results of any before and after burning tests.
