Antix Jessie auf einem Eee 701 4G; Aktualisierungsverwaltung

Hallo,
Antix ist für mich totales Neuland.
habe es auf meinem Asus EeePC 701 4G installiert weil es klein und resourcensprarend sein soll.

jetzt habe ich aber einzelne Schwierigkeiten und hoffe hier Hilfe zu finden weil ich in den Suchmaschinene nichts gefunden habe:

1. Wo finde ich unter Jessie die Aktualisierungsverwaltung? gibt es sowas, oder muss ich über die Paketverwaltung gehen?

2. die CPU ist ständig voll ausgelastet. Was kann ich umstellen um diese etwas zu entlasten? Wo finde ich die Autostart-Einstellungen? Bzw. wenn ich diese gefunden habe, was kann ich ausstellen? Das Netbook wird eigentlich nur zum Surfen verwendet.

3. auch in Bezug auf die CPU, welchen Browser würdet ihr empfehlen, den vorinstallierten Iceweasel oder Chrome?

bin für jeden Tip dankbar.

Sorry, my german is not very good, so I will try to answer in english.

1. you may use the package manager, OR in a terminal, type this:

 sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

2. I would try a different kernel, some of the later kernels seems to give very high cpu use some times

3. Iceweasel tends to use less"power" to run, than chrome, but try both, and see which one you like?

Should"inxi -Fxxx" be anything for the terminal?

Type inxi -Fxxx in a terminal as it gives us a lot of info about your hardware and which version of antiX you are using.

You could try installing the latest kernel (and its headers)

In a terminal, become root user and type:

apt-get update
apt-get install linux-image-3.18.1-antix.1-486-smp linux-headers-3.18.1-antix.1-486-smp
update-grub

Reboot into new kernel.

thank you. but I don't have a 8GB Flash drive. I just wanted to use the computer with the resources it has.
I just have a Asus701 not a Asus 900

To remove an installed app, use

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get remove <progname>

in a terminal.

You may find it easier to use a 'base' version & add just what you want.

but I have to log in as administrator. Can I change the user to the administrator just in the terminal?
If I log in as administrator I can't find the terminal. well there almost nothing.

just to remember, if you tell me to install something please remember I need it in the language German.

but for this I need the name of the programm, don't I? is it not possible to have something like a list and choose which one I need and which one I don't need?

thank you. but now I prepared a lot of things like I need it, f.e. find packages in German, and something more. If I install something new. I have to start from the beginning.
is it not possible just to fix this one as good as we can to get the best performance with the resources I have.

you can become root, temporary in the terminal, by typing

 su root

then your root password
or just use sudo, so the command would be

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-blahblah blah

If you use sudo, use your user password, not the root password

Oh, the package manager is called synaptic. it should be in the menu somewhere, or just start it from a terminal

Open a terminal, become root, launch synaptic. Then try this:

Click on the button"Sections" in the lower left corner
Scroll down the list that shows up in the left panel and click on the first"Games and Amusement" entry
In the main panel, click on the header of the small column (it may lack a label) at the very left end of the top header bar
You should now see all the games from this section that are installed; if not click again. If nothing shows up, change to the next Game section on the list
Highlight them all with Ctrl-click
Right click the highlighted list and select"Mark for complete removal"
Click the Apply button up on the upper left of the screen
Repeat that if necessary for the other Game sections

If I misunderstood what you are trying to do, please just ignore this!

did you run"apt-get update" first?

you can try to run (in a terminal) apt-cache search linux-image
That will show you a list of the kernels you can choose from.
But you should run an apt-get update first, in both cases.
