I did not know if this is the right spot?
I have an old laptop that is TOO OLD for antix and i really don't want the 6.5.
so, i'm thinking of using debian(testing) and try to add the antix-goodies.
and i was wondering if anyone --had any tips?
like:
where to get the centi wrapper?

I hate to see a good old taptop goto waste--plus i know a good home for it to goto.
It might be a late gift?

I'm sure anti would be willing to provide you with all the scripts and such to antix-ize your install. It shouldn't be too difficult.

The only reasonably light-wieght debian testing distro that I know of, other than antix, is dreamlinux.

Thank you guys,
i will give dreamlinux a try and hope i don't get a"kernel panic"--too old .
I really had no luck with damn small linux, feather linux, and puppy linux--they are made for live cd use.
It is hard to go back after using antix.

I have antiX 7.5 running on a Gateway Solo 2500 - PII 333Mhz CPU and 128 Mb ram; I added a 512MB swap. It's not fast, but it does OK. I can look at it tomorrow to get the boot codes I used, if you would like them.

I have two 333mhz and a 450mhz gateway laptops --that i'm working on other than the 233mhz.
one of the 333mhz has 7.5 and the others have m8 installed.
i only have one good battery and having a hard time in picking the one to put it in?
the 333mhz runs cooler but the 450mhz has more ram and a bigger drive.
i'm thinking less fan running equals longer lasting.

I no longer giving the 233mhz and giving one of the 333mhz
--just to find out they want windows(aaaggghhh)

the other one will be an over-sized mp3 player for my son
