Welcome Texasred218. I've tried quite a few linux distros (never Mepis though), however, I stopped distro hopping after I found Antix. It's very fast and very powerful and the group is very friendly.

Texasred218, I welcome you to the company of antiX users. I am a multi distribution kind of a guy. It is kind of a hobby with me. I find many of the distributions very good, but what I try to do is categorize them, then try to fit various ones into the categories.

I have a fast, yet capable desktop category and antiX just hits that mark perfectly. It's parent, SimplyMEPIS, really does a good job with the full, but basic and relatively simple desktop distribution. AntiX cuts down on that, but adds a few tools that make transforming and customizing antiX really easy for the tweaker, and I give antiX huge high marks for that as well.

I hope you continue to enjoy antiX. Do stop by often and definitely come by if you have questions or come across any potential issues; we like to correct issues or help people solve the problems that the encounter.
