I just installed beta 2 in virtualbox. I installed guest additions and everything seems to work except the screen resolution. I edited xorg and added the resolution I want and that has worked with all previous versions of antiX. Not sure what is different or why it didn't work. Any ideas?

Works OK for me, but, strangely enough, plays about a bit when i'm in IceWM?? It's fine in Fluxbox. I just added"1440x900""1280x1024" in all the relevant places & it's working fine. Are you using IceWM? Give Flux a try and see what happens.
AntiX is great in VirtualBox. Gives me a chance to play around with it while i'm working (I have to use XP for work - Music/Studio).
EDIT: Hmmm, just been having a play & it's not 100% perfect, for although the screen works fine & i can get the size that i want, the"Auto-Resize" function in VB doesn't seem to work at all. Quite messy at times in fact, so once i've booted into antiX in VB, it's best left alone. LOL!!

What are the right places? I added"1680x1050" in front of all screen resolution sections in xorg then I went to the Control Center and Hardware and when I hit"Set Screen Resolution" it is not listed there. Yes, I did reboot. It does the same thing in Fluxbox.DJiNN wrote:Works OK for me, but, strangely enough, plays about a bit when i'm in IceWM?? It's fine in Fluxbox. Nevermind...I fixed it. I didn't have a quote in front of the resolution in the one section. Thanks!

Aha..... yep, i made exactly the same mistake the other day on my Laptop. Easily done. __{{emoticon}}__ Glad that you got it working though. Is the"Resize" working on your VB antiX?JawsThemeSwimming428 wrote:Nevermind...I fixed it. I didn't have a quote in front of the resolution in the one section. Thanks!

No, but it hasn't worked in any distro I have ever installed... and I have pretty much installed them all. antiX is by far the easiest to set up in VB. Not sure why distros don't ship with all the dependencies for guest additions installed.

Did you just edit your xorg.conf file to add the proper screen resolution? Or where did you change it?
I could never get antiX (or anything else) to have the proper resolution in VB - the buttons at the bottom of the screen were always off the screen, and there was no way to get to them, and I used fluxbox too.

I'm using IceWM but I don't think that should matter. I edited xorg.conf and all I do is add my desired screen resolution in front of the listed resolution for each section. In other words, wherever you see resolutions, put the one you want in front of them. Then I reboot and antiX picks up my resolution (usually). If it doesn't just go to the control center and change it there. Hope it works!mariel77 wrote:Did you just edit your xorg.conf file to add the proper screen resolution? Or where did you change it?
