Hi
I have just installed AntiX on a Compaq M700. I am using dial up at the moment and the Dynalink modem connects and then loses the carrier and drops out. I want to change the modem string to put in a delay but it won't let me!

I go to Settings/Control Centre/Network/Config Dial Up Account/Setup/Initiation Strings but can't edit the one that is there or add a new one.

I have used Puppy Linux for several years and have just discovered AntiX. It seems to have the advantage for old laptops that it does not need a lot of ram.

thanks, Russ

Most of this stuff is under /etc/ppp, you may find what your looking for there. Sorry It's been some time since I had a dialup challenge.
