I just did a fresh install into virtualbox of 8.5 pt1 beta. unlike the previous version, the guest additions no longer work properly. I can't change the screen size as I could in 8.5 pt1 and, although the cursor does change from 8.5 to my Mac host. it still shows in 8.5 when I am on the Mac side. which it didn't before. any ideas? I also have an install of Mepis 8.5 whatever the build is currently, and guest additions do work there.

That may have to do with a newer xserver-xorg for the antix beta (and VB not being fully compatible with it yet).

Wifi not detected... and a minor bug
Testing anti-x 8.5 pt1 beta from live USB, fromiso
on my Samsung NC10 netbook

Wifi not detected (using wicd and ceni)
This worked flawlessly with antiX M8.2

Retried with 8.2 from a fresh live-USB: it works.
With 8.5: no network detected (ceni detects only the ethernet card)
Seems that the atheros chipset is not detected...

I attach the output of inxi -F and dmesg on both systems

a little bug in script .icemenuyap2.py : the script does not run, it is in a ms-dos format (CR+LF)
maybe corrupted by an erroneous ftp transfer...
dos2unix is not in antiX

Hey lagopus. I have the same Atheros Wireless Chip as you do on my Acer Aspire one and on my Asus EEE 900. For some reason the ath5k or ath9k driver doesn't load on bootup in Antix 8.5 from what I can tell. I think that is why Wicd and Ceni and Rutilt has a hissy fit when trying to connect wirelessly with the Atheros 5001 chip. Antix 8.2 loads the module with kernel 2.6.27. I don't know what the deal is though with kernel 2.6.32 though.

For those with ath5k or ath9k drivers, try
#modprobe ath5k or ath9k

then ceni.

may help (though there are reports of ath5k being broken in 32 kernel)

Others with connection problems, you probably will need the wl-modules for the latest kernel (I forgot to include it)
