AntiX rocks. Thankyou thankyou thankyou! So much easier than trying to whittle down a big distribution to run happily on my old free-dopted laptop. Debian lenny was nice but couldn't get the display to work properly, and the boards for my video card were full of sob-stories. SuSE had a manual workaround for the video card, but couldn't get an internet connection despite lots of work. Found AntiX on recommendation from one of the kindly tech volunteers on a big distribution who was trying to help with display, DVD, and etc.. problems. Biggest compliment for a distro appears to be"just works", and that applies to my experience with AntiX so far--
Bravo. __{{emoticon}}__

1. Posted specs done, thanks for reminder Rokytnji
2. Re: missing 1 MHz-- cool eh? I've corrected, but this was I guess a truncated (not rounded) report from the first hardware report I got from the machine. Currently Conky says it's running at 399.92 MHz.
