I was thinking everything was sorted when my Lady asked me to print her some blank diabetic blood/glucose level recording sheets from the pdf file on my computer. My usual habit is to navagate to the file via mc and hit enter with my ~/.config/mc/mc.ext set to open pdf files with okular, where a <ctrl>+<p> used to offer to print the pdf on my installed HP Deskjet D4160 printer.
But all it offers now are the print to file options...

Fortunately I happen to have epdfview installed which had no problem finding my printer. Opera finds the printer. Libreoffice finds the printer. lpr from the bash prompt finds the printer. Abiword finds the printer. and leafpad finds the printer But not okular, not kwrite, and not the screen print command from the same Konsole window from which I tested lpr.

So what do I need to do to get the few kde apps I use to recognize it again??
