Hello Everyone.
I am fairly new to Linux and still finding my way around so I am grateful for any help given.
I am present using Xubuntu on my main computer but I have installed antiX 13.2 on an old laptop so that can try it out before changing my main computer to antiX.
Can anyone give me advice with two questions.
My first question is - When I try to install my Epson D92 printer on antiX using the Wizard I get as far as the final stage and a message pops up saying
“ There was an error during cups operation - cups-authorization-cancelled”
Can anyone please tell me how to sort out this problem and install my printer.
My second question is -When I have installed Linux in the past I have always selected to use the entire disk
When I install antiX 13.2 on my main computer I want do a dual boot and keep Xubuntu
as well as antiX until I see how I get on. I have watched the video ( runwiththedolphin )
so when it comes to the bit about gparted do I just click on the gparted button and it sorts itself out or do I have to do anything else.
As am long past retirement age my brain isn’t as quick as it used to be so I will very
grateful if you make it simple for me.
Thank you in advance for any advice given.

You will have to make your own partitions with gparted. Its not too hard.
You may need to add your username to the lpadmin group. That is what I have to do with my Brother printer.
as root, open the file called
/ etc/group
and look for
lpadmin104:
and put your user name after the
:
The save the file, logout, and log back in. Hopefully that will help.

To edit that file, another way id to do this:
1. Click on Files folder on the desktop and navigate to etc
2. Right click on the file called group and choose Edit as root with a left mouse click
3. Enter root password
4. Make the changes suggested by dolphin above and save

Which wizard did you use?
Did you download the driver from the epson support side?
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://global.epson.com/driver/imaging/support/"

I have an epson printer too
First i installed"cups" from synaptic.Theres also an epson-inkjet-printer prcs.This i also installed.
Then i downloaded the driver from the epson support side.In my case it have been three drivers ,but this is only because it has 3 functions.
If yours is only a printer i think it will be only one driver.
You have to choose the deb.-package.
This driver you can install with the GDebi-package installation from the menu.
I hope this helps.

Hi caprea
Sorry for the late reply but I have just logged on today and just read your message. I was just about to post that I carried out the instructions as suggested by d_o and anticapitalista to say that the installation Wizard worked ok but my printer still won't work.I printed a few words of text pressed print but nothing. My printer works ok on my Xubuntu machine so the printer is ok. As you say it looks like a driver problem The Wizard that I used is the one on the antiX control centre that was part of the antiX installation. I only use the one printer purely for home use.
As I have said I am struggling a bit with Linux so could you please tell me simply how I would download a driver for my D92.
Thank you for your patience

O.K.Sometimes its paused. Then there is no green check mark.Instead there is a pause mark.
Double click on the printer.something like guidelines.(mine is not in english). There you have to activate.
If not so,we have to go on with the downloads.

Hi Caprea
I am sorry but I feel that I do not have enough knowledge to handle antiX and I have to admit defeat. I will just go back to my Linux Xubuntu which I find easier. I just plugged in the printer and it was recognised.
I am sorry to have wasted your time. Thanks for your help
