In Live-USB session, I try to run gparted and it asks for administrative password. What to do?

root is the password

Name is Demo
That is for the default USB stick/cd.

Thank you, but it doesn't seem to work from the Menu at the live session. I give the password and then nothing. At least, gparted works at"install" icon.
