I've set up libtrash, but it only partially works. Libtrash works only for files that are non-empty AND deleted through the GUI. Libtrash does NOT work for files deleted in command line through the"rm" command.
Is there something I need to do to get libtrash to save files deleted with the"rm" command? If not, is there another application I can install to fill the gap?

gives instructions for configuring libtrash. At the bottom they go through a test procedure using the rm command so I think libtrash does indeed intercept the rm command as long as it is configured correctly.
