I have the Advanced File Plugin file downloaded but am lost when I go to Plugins-import-file. This is where I am stuck and don't know exactly what to do.
What I really need to do is search for audio files on my external HD and then copy them or drag them over to my music folder so I can use them on my radio show. Is this the right tool for the job or should I be looking at something else?
Thanks!!

I would just use a file manager to do that, is there some reason that you can't do likewise?

If you are familiar withe the nautilus file manager or the one in Zorin core, there is a search option built in to the file manager. All you do is search for the files you want and then you can copy the files you want from the search results, to another folder.
I could install the nautilus file manager but I am looking for a solution that is low resource with few dependencies so that I don't bog down my computer.
What are my options including file managers or maybe other search tools?

to use advanced find plugin for spacefm, you also need to download the findtools package from the same download site. since findtools is a arch package, you need to extract the findtools executable from the tarball and put the file in /usr/local/bin.
you need to install the advanced find plugin directly from the tar.gz file. Just use the Plugins>install plugin routine to do this. The command will show up in the plugins menu.
Once both packages are installed, you select a directory and then"Advanced find". Advanced find will then launch a text-based search routine which will do what you want. Its a little kludgy with the text based interface, but it does work fairly speedily. and it has an option to copy the found files to a new folder while preserving the folder structure.
