Hi all!

I'm loving Antix 13.1 so far as far as the Live Distribution is concerned. I just got as far as setting up a printer which I might do now and then during a Live boot.

I ran into this problem. Using Virtualbox and enabling a USB printer. In this case it's the Brother MFC-9325CW and trying to add it to Antix.

I realize that someone posted that the live version doesn't start cups and I would have to remove MLX from the boot code to start it up on boot.

For now being that I want it running in LIVE, I started cups after I su to root.
Opened antix control center/hardware/setup-a-printer/add/brother-mfc9325cw/generic/pclaser/apply
Got a CUPS server error, There was an error during the CUPS operation:'cups-authorization-canceled'

Turns out someone else was having a problem and they used the command:
$sudo system-config-printer

This worked for me. I'm guessing it's some kind of permission issue since the GUI Antix control center asks for a root password to start up the config-printer gui.

Is this a bug?

Thanks!
Mike

A report has been made about a similar issue where the error message refers to authentication rather than authorization. See post30848.html#p30848

If these are the same the fix relates to group membership as shown in the Debian wiki, section 2. Add a printer. See
