Academics have joined the fight against mass surveillance. Two open letters were published last month from the academic and research communities
Both letters agree: global surveillance conducted by U.S. and European governments undermines democracy, the global economy, academic freedom, and our most depended-upon technologies.

Well for that matter we could take the view that they want us to know because of the fear factor."We have to be good boys and girls because Big Brother is watching and sees all." Oh wait a moment, isn't that some kind of a religion? Or maybe it's the Wizard of Oz?Duh! They know we know, and they don't care.

I'm probably on a watch list because of my outspoken ways, about the past, and current administrations.
But if I am so be it, they have not taken away free speech yet.
