Hello everybody And thanks a lot for antiX.
I'm Darnos. and i wanna say hello and tell you where antiX is working. Because i'm really REALLY surpise. For good __{{emoticon}}__
My usual Pc it's an I7, Just a 3GB RAM and a correct Nvidia graphic card. Do all what i need. But some days ago i ask myself what is purpose for this machine. I usually turn it on, listen some internet radio, surf the web.Watch a movie... Maybe play some videogame (not much time for that! ) and install and remove programs. That's all. So... i think"This machine use a 600 w power source. I know. Not all the time use that energy but... can i do same whit less energy?"
I must confess i LOVE recover old PC and dumped away machines. And i have one that i think it's not very usual. A littel box whit a PICO motherboard whit a VIA C7 (codename Esther), 1 GB RAM and 120 Gb hard drive. The C7 works at 1Ghz. Sound nice enogh... but that VIA processors was built not for brute force data process. Was create for low energy consuption. In fact, that small PC works just whit 12 V adapter. Originaly this machine built in a Windows Xp and can't be upgrade beyond. And here comes the antiX magic.
At this moment, this machine have antiX 32 bit whit fluxbox and Jessie. And come alive! now i can surf the web whit QupZilla and if need more speed and less things at screen, can use Dillo or fastest whit Links. OK, not the pretiest web browsers, but i can red news, can check meneame (spanish news agregator. Something similar to reddit) and download some archives. I can use Bittorrent and ed2k network. Still enjoy my internet radio! and... Youtube videos at 480p whit SMTube! I was surprised i can!
Of course some things needs some tricks. I need MLDonkey because looks Amule it's not avalible for Jessie users. Ok. Maybe MLDonkey it's not so eyecandy and friendly user than Amule... but it's ok.
I can use Qbittorrent (great!) but... well... rtorrent comes preinstalled and it's really REALLY light!. Dillo /Links + rtorrent it's a WIN!
I can hear my internet radio whit Streamtunner 2 and xmms
I can watch movies whit MPV! Whit ANY problem! Fluid and not buggie!
I can watch Youtube videos.
I can hear my MP3 and music.
I can surf the web whit Qupzilla or Firefox (Ok, firefox it's sloooowwww sometimes. C7 do what it can. __{{emoticon}}__ ) or for ligt things, using Dillo or Links.
I can use Telegram and comunicate whit my friends and family from my small computer. (suck that Whatsapp! ) __{{emoticon}}__
And of course, i can play videogames! Freedoom, OpenXcom, DosBox games... OK, it's not the last and AAA game but Who cares? i LOVE old games. Oh! and roguelikes. I can play Brogue. And emulators! I can use FCEUX (at minimal setings and playable at 90%)
...
What can i say... it's OSOM! Now i have and old computer dumped away and whit a dead OS (Windows Xp) fullly working and up to date whit a 2017 OS whit antiX.
So... thank you anticapitalista, and thank you all comunity.

Welcome aboard. __{{emoticon}}__
Glad you can make use of your old machine, firefox does struggle with only 1GB ram, but if at all posssible to upgrade to 2GB, it works much better. __{{emoticon}}__

Howdy and Welcome. I still use my atom netbooks in motorcycle saddlebags when traveling.
My phone is the router in the middle of no where and my atom netbooks are about as powerful as your gear.
I am not concerned about the abuse they take in 100+ F heat in my saddlebags.

What you say remember me that y add a line to the antiX config that show the current temperature registered. It's no mine. I don't know how to config Conky. I just sufr the web until find something that works.
Could be useful if i post it here? Maybe i must star a new post whit the config lane?
I'm faraway to be a Linux Power User. I'm just a low level user, but happy to help.
Again, thank you. ^^

First, edit /etc/apt/sources.d/debian.list
copypaste the"jessie" line to a new line, and change"...jessie..." to wheezy
save the edited file then
sudo apt update && sudo apt install amule
Answer"yes" when prompted to install dependencies (wxwidgets v2.8 libraries) along with amule. About 22Mb total will be installed.
After install, again edit /etc/apt/sources.d/debian.list and remove (or outcomment, by placing a # symbol at beginning of line) the"wheezy" line.
(I would also then) again perform sudo apt update
ps: I've chosen to stick with amule version 2.3.1 (from wheezy repo).
If you pull from stretch repo, you'll get a later version of amule which uses wxwidgets v3.0 (and I haven't tested that).
So, heads up ~~ when you launch amule and it mentions"a newer version is available", yeah... thanks but no.
Here's how you can get amule:Amule it's not avalible for Jessie users.
